18/03/14 Photo a Day  Five Years Ago

Five years ago I was in Adelaide at Jayne and Tom's as I finished the binding on this quilt which was the raffle quilt for the 2010 Bathurst SCQ's retreat .The quilt was a collaborative effort by the Bathurst Committee, co-ordinated by Del Soden and Quilted by Belinda Betts of Orange.

At the Adelaide retreat held in April we started to sell tickets in this quilt and also revealed the plans for the Bathurst retreat in 2010.

16/03/14  Photo a Day  Beautifully Ordinary

This cross stitch was started by Mum but a friend of mine finished for me to have framed and give her not long before she died. Mum absolutely loved Sturt Dessert Peas because they reminded her of her mother who had them growing under and around the water tank outside the kitchen door at the farm.
And today it is all the more in my mind because it is 13 years since Mum died so memories are never far away.

A begonia from the Begonia House in Machattie Park Bathurst , I took his photo last year and it won't be long until I can visit with my camera to see this year's blooms.
I love the purity of the colours and  the size of some of them is amazing.
