13/05/2015   Photo a Day  Hands

These two hands are getting old now but over the years they have nursed for many years, reared two lovely children , cooked , cleaned, gardened  and all the motherly things but they have also knitted, crocheted, sewn, embroidered and quilted for most of my life.

12/05/2015   Photo a Day  Eyes

Who could resist these eyes? They belong to Murphy who is about 10 years old a rescued Cross Maltese I have had since 2007. He is my shadow and guards me with his life until my daughter comes home for a night or two and then he switches allegiance to her automatically.

Bathurst Bicentenial May 2015

As part of the celebrations last night they had illuminations and a lantern parade , 100 years ago last night they had a lantern parade to celebrate Bathurst centenary and they recreated it last night.
The night was cool and crisp but there was a very large crowd and the Court House did look lovely ,the lights will continue until 17th May (if you get home in time Julie!).

New project underway

I received a parcel this week from Tom and Jayne who had been shopping at the Quilt Shop in Celeste Tx . It contained some fabric as instructed by me to make a quilt for Lisi and Ethan and I have commenced work after a day or two procrastinating

The quilt is a Zig Zag design with the stripped bright colours and plain black, I hope they like it when it's finished.

Anzac Day 2015 The gardens

Kings Parade is a park in the middle of Bathurst that used to be the Town Square , it is between the Anglican Cathedral and the Courthouse.
It has a Boer War Memorial and this Carillon was built to remember those who fought in World War One and subsequent wars. The gardens around the Carillon are adorned in White crosses and Poppies knitted by Bathurstians to commemorate the Centenary of the Gallipoli Landing 25/04/1915.

I love looking at this old building especially when the leaves are gone from the trees , the colours of the corrugated tin are beautiful.

This is part of  Tremain's Flour Mill built in 1859  and has just gone on the market. I hope nothing is done to change it.
