Family photos

Not many families have photos of their Grandparents with fish  but we do both of them loved fishing for marlin and spent many times at Bermagui on the NSW South Coast. Nanny was even the Australian Champion at one stage and had to go to Bob and Dolly Dyer's home to receive the award from Dolly.

Catherine Doyle (and fish!)

James Oswald Doyle (and fish)

20/06/14   Photo a Day Yah!

Today I am celebrating family.

One of my younger cousins Sue Booth in Qld is interested in all  the family history stuff I have gathered over the years and today I have been scanning photos. This photo of Mum and her siblings with their spouses was taken at Cathy's wedding May 1989.It is the last time they were all together and it's  sad that only two people in this photo are still alive.
These five couples had twenty-one children between them and I try and stay in contact with as many as possible.I loved my Aunts and Uncles very much as I did not have much family on my father's side and just two cousins who I met only twice.

It will only be for a couple of days Mum , he said! And think of the lovely new bathroom you'll get, he said!
Then he went around to stay at his girlfriend's house for a couple of nights and left me with a toilet and a kitchen sink and no hot water either.
