    I designed the pattern of this quilt using my EQ many years ago now and whilst I'm not a "pink person" I deliberately wanted light but bright colours as my bedroom is a bit dark as it's an inner room.

 Gold was found in the Bathurst area as early as 1823 but the Colonial Government kept it a secret until the Califorina Goldrush in 1848  saw many men migrate to California thus leaving the new settlement in Australia delpleted of menfolk.
In 1851 Gold was again discovered in the Bathurst area thus starting a Gold rush that saw not only Bathurst grow but places like Sofala and Hill End  as well.
There are still Gold Mines in this part of New South Wales at Hill End,Orange and Blayney areas.

  Yes I know photo a day should include a photo and maybe later it will upload but for now my computer is not playing fairly.

Yesterday I took two photos of a silver locket I have which belonged to my Paternal Aunt Joan who died in 1942 having been struck by a tram in Sydney whilst both her brothers were in the Middle East.
This locket contains a photo of her parents, my Grandparents Herbet and Kathleen McDougall, he died before I was born and my Grandmother died in 1986 in a Nursing Home in Turramurra.

Now back to the Computer problem Tim is giving me a computer for my birthday and I should be getting it in the next few weeks I hope as this one is slowly dying( if I don't hit it with a hammer before then!)

Today is my youngest sister's birthday , I am seventeen years older than her and we have neveer lived under the same roof for any lengnth of time.This photo was taken at Yamba NSW about 1968.

The water in  Macquarie  Harbour in Tasmania is black because of Tanin which has leached out of the peat.
