These four patches are for a quilt that I have changed the design to a more simple one, mind you there is still plenty more piecing to do and these squares are one inch.
Originally I was taking part in a challenge but life got in the way as usual and I haven't been to Sydney since February.

I have been in possession of this Bible for most of my life and it tells two stories of my family. My father was in Egypt from almost the beginning of WW 2 and was badly injured in 1941 and sent home but he had bought this Bible for his sister Joan.

On the side front cover he has written To Joan a present from the East 1941

On the inside back cover he has written 19th January 1942 4.15PM
Died St Vincent's Hospital around Midnight.Buried Northern Suburbs Cemetery 31/1/42

Joan was the oldest of the three children  and although she was married did not have any children of her own.She had been hit by a tram in Sydney that day in January so long ago and this is one of three things I have of hers.

Autumn leaves

Now that winter has set in I am finally almost clear of Autumn leaves, this one is from the London Plane Tree growing on the footpath three houses away. This particular leaf is twelve inches across and when you multiply that by the number of leaves and the number of trees it takes months to finish cleaning up the leaves.
