This is a very recent photo of me and my grey hair so different from the dark hair of my teens and the fair hair as a toddler in 1950.

30/07/2017   Photo a Day  Free Choice

This photo was taken about six months before Mum died and  her visitor is her brother George Doyle the father of Tony and Sue from the previous post. It is the last time they saw each other , Mum died in 2001 when she was 79  and George died many years later aged in his nineties.
As a child he was my favourite uncle and that did not diminish with the years he used to ring me regularly to make sure I was OK until the last year or so of his life.

Back Home

I have had a lovely holiday with Tom and Jayne Riley visiting relatives and looking at this beautiful country of ours.We travelled inland up to Townsville and then down the Queensland coast to Bundaburg where we visited our cousin Sue and her husband Colin. I hadn't seen Sue for twenty years but for Jayne it was forty years so there was lots of catching up to do.

After Bundaburg we travelled to Millmerrin in the Darling Downs and visited Tony (Sue's older brother) whom I hadn't seen since 1972 and the last time Jayne saw him she was only thirteen. He is the spitting image of his late father and even is a great story teller like Uncle George used to be.Many childhood memories were shared with both Tony and Sue .

Please note I have a jacket on and unfortunately that was the last time we wore our summer clothes until this winter decides to go away.

29/07/2017   Photo a Day   Beautiful Building

Bathurst Courthouse was opened in 1877 and is Bathurst's most distinguished public building. It is 81 metres long and 45 metres wide.
Originally the wings contained The Post Office and Telegraph office but now the East Wing houses the History Museum and the West wing is the Conservatorium of Music
