Maddie Jay

Last night a new family member arrived from Alligator Creek , she the daughter of Steven's service dog and has come to live with Molly and I. Molly is not sure whether this is a good thing or not ,  still getting used to having a small creature run around at a million miles an hour.

Kathleen Maria

My Paternal Grandmother Kathleen Maria McDougall (nee Turley) was born on this day in Reddich England in 1889, when she was sixteen the family migrated to New Zealand where she met and married  an Australian  Barrister named Herbert in 1910 at Christchurch and after the birth of their three children they moved to Sydney.

After the death of Herbert in 1948 she moved around a bit so we didn't see much of her, she moved to Melbourne then Auckland then Brisbane and finally back to Sydney where she died aged 96.As children we didn't see that much of her and when she did come back to Sydney I was already married with two small children.

 15/05/2024  Photo a Day  Weathered

This tree in my courtyard has weathered well , it provides shade in the summer and allows the sun to stream in in the winter months. It does however create lots of work at this time of the year gathering and disposing of leaves. This photo was taken exactly ten years ago.
