This ad is a few years old now but this was where I lived for most of my childhood , whilst we did not go to the roof very often I have clear memories of watching the Britannia sail into Sydney Harbour with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.Back in those days family friends owned the whole block and we lived on the ground floor and had a large backyard all to ourselves.

22/10/2017   Photo a Day  I wrote this

In late 2000 I decided to make a year quilt in 2001 because I knew it was going to be a significant year in my life.A year quilt involves keeping a diary and choosing a different fabric for every day, well the quilt top was finished and I have half transferred the diary contents to the computer so I can print it on fabric and use for the back of the quilt.
This page is about my attendance at the Annual SCQuilters Retreat (my first one) at Noosa , it was only about one month after Mum had died but I did have fun and met many lovely ScQuilters who are still my friends to this day.
including Pennie Griffiths.

Thimbles

A little bit of procrastination yesterday there was many things to do so I decided to clean my thimbles.

After washing all the ceramic ones , polishing the silver ones and wiping the wooden, bakelite and plastic thimbles it was time to dust the Ems (printers trays) that house them.
Tom challenged me to count them so I did I own

239 thimbles

101 of these are souvenirs from overseas
10 silver thimbles 3 of which are over 100 years old
1 Wedgewood
1 Coalport
118 Australian souvenirs
